Creating Venn Diagrams

You can create Venn diagrams by: clicking Build a Venn from the homepage, selecting New > Venn Diagram, or by dragging the Venn Diagram tool onto the Workspace. When creating Venn diagrams, you cannot drag the column onto the Venn; instead you must set a column value.

Creating a Venn diagram using Build a Venn

To create a Venn diagram using Build a Venn on the homepage:

Procedure

1. Click Build a Venn.
2. Set the Resolution Level.
3. From the Data Explorer drag the field value onto the Venn.
4. Drag one or more further field values onto the Venn.
5. The chart will redraw to display the selected segments.

Results

After your Venn diagram has been created, you can Configure the Display Settings and Edit it. For example, you can rename the chart and create a new segment.

Creating a Venn diagram Using New > Venn Diagram

To create a Venn diagram using New > Venn Diagram:

Procedure

1. Select New > Venn Diagram
2. Set the Resolution Level.
3. From the Data Explorer drag the field value onto the Venn.
4. Drag one or more further field values onto the Venn.
5. The chart will redraw to display the selected segments.

Results

Creating a Venn diagram Using the Venn Tool

To create a Venn diagram using the Venn tool:

Procedure

Drag the tool to the Workspace.

1. Select the resolution level by clicking into the field in the top right hand corner and selecting the relevant table.
2. Drag a field value from the Data Explorer and drop it into the active Venn area. A large circle representing the segment will be displayed.
3. Drag one or more further field values from the Data Explorer.
4. The chart will redraw to display the selected segments.

Results

After your Venn diagram has been created, you can Configure the Display Settings and Edit it. For example, you can rename the chart and create a new segment.
